the Bible – God’s Word
I. JESUS AND GOD’S WORD THE BIBLE
E. Conclusion
The New Testament has been shown to be a reliable historical document and to have been written by those who were eyewitnesses to the life of Jesus or by recipients of the teaching of the eyewitnesses. The text of the New Testament has been demonstrated to be trustworthy based on the vast manuscript evidence available today. The written record of these documents establishes the true identity of Jesus as God’s only unique Son speaking with divine authority.
Jesus affirmed the divine origin of the Old and New Testament scriptures in the words which He spoke and the promises He made. His testimony and teaching as the Son of God regarding the divine origin of the scriptures is authoritative and is the cornerstone of this vital doctrine. The apostles whom He chose and sent out in His name to preach and to teach were the God ordained means by which the word of God has come down to us today. Therefore, those wishing to put their trust in the Old and New Testament Scriptures as God’s word, by which He has spoken to our world, can do so with complete confidence and without reservation.
The next section, “Other Evidence”, will add to this foundation other helpful information to strengthen our faith in the Bible as God’s word through which He has spoken. Please continue to the next page to learn more.
