Jesus – Who Was this man?

H. Conclusion

The written record of the New Testament regarding the life and teachings of Jesus Christ is astounding. We have presented the evidence for the reliability of the New Testament as a trustworthy historical document and we have examined the testimony it contains about Jesus. There is but one conclusion: Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this world to speak the words of God and to bear witness to the truth.

With this conclusion in mind our attention is turned back again to the Bible. Do we still view the New Testament as simply a reliable historical document? Or, is there now reason to consider this unique collection of first century writings as more than a trustworthy account of the life of Jesus given by honest men which was carefully passed down to us through the ages? And what about the nature of the Old Testament Scriptures? Has God somehow spoken to our world through them as well? In other words, is there now good reason to believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures are together the inspired Word of God? We will answer those questions in the next topic, “The Bible – God’s Word”.
