YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU; AND YOU SHALL BE MY WITNESSES… (Acts 1:8)
To ensure that His words and the Gospel message would live on, Jesus chose the Apostles to be His disciples then sent them out into the world to be his witnesses. He promised them that the Spirit of God would bring to their remembrance all that He said and would guide them into the truth.
Through the ministry of the Apostles the teaching of Jesus was widely proclaimed and put into writing, then it was carefully copied and passed down to us today. Furthermore, God also used the Apostles themselves to speak to our world as they were guided by His Spirit in their preaching and teaching.
Because of all this, we can be sure that in the New Testament God has spoken to our world through Jesus and the Apostles and we can know the truth!
