the Bible – God’s Word
II. OTHER EVIDENCE
F. Dynamic Ability
The testimony of multitudes throughout the history of Christianity has been of the transforming power of the word of God in the life of the individual who yields to God and to His word in faith and obedience. Regardless of differences in time, geography, nationality, education, age, sex or previous religious experience those who truly become God’s adopted children through faith in Jesus Christ experience the life changing dynamic ability of the word of God in their lives.
Many who have lived their lives in spiritual darkness and sin have been set free by the love and grace of God and press on to live a new life in Christ. The power of sinful thoughts, desires and habits is broken and the new person reborn in Christ continues to grow unto spiritual maturity.
The transforming dynamic at work in the life of the believer should be of no surprise because this is what the scriptures teach will happen to the person who starts a new life in Christ. Jesus spoke of the reality and importance of a new spiritual rebirth when He spoke with the religious leader Nicodemus.
Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:1-3)
The apostle Paul also spoke of the transforming power of the word of God, describing believers in Jesus as those who were a new creation being transformed into the same image as that of their Lord and Savior.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 2:5:17 ESV)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God…. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:1-2)
The dynamic ability of the word of God is not just experienced in the life of the believer but also in the lives of those impacted by the good works of those believers who respond in obedience to God’s call to do good works in His name.
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people (Galatians 6:10)
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful. (Titus 3:14)
The amount of good that has been done in the name of Christ throughout the world by Christians is immeasurable. If the humanitarian assistance in terms of food, clothing, medical care, education and financial assistance could be calculated and documented the results would be astounding. This together with the love and genuine concern given to others one person at a time is evidence of the life-changing dynamic ability of the word of God.
You can learn more about the transforming dynamic power of the Christian life in the Library in the topic of “The Will of God” under the sub-heading of “Sanctification”.
One would expect that a book given to man by God would have a dynamic influence on those who have embraced it. Without a doubt the Bible is such a book having directly transformed the lives of multitudes of people through the ages who have received the Gospel message. The Bibles dynamic ability can also be seen indirectly overflowing into the lives of those who have been the recipients of the love of God found within the hearts of His children.
